On February 2, we recognize CHD2 Awareness Day — a day that means everything to families like ours.

CHD2 is a rare genetic condition that causes severe epilepsy, developmental delays, and lifelong challenges for children and adults. For most families, the diagnosis comes with more questions than answers — and historically, very little research.

That’s why the Coalition to Cure CHD2 (CCC) exists.

In just the past year, thanks to your generosity, CCC has:

  • Funded critical laboratory research that is advancing our understanding of CHD2 at the cellular level

  • Strengthened the global research pipeline, connecting scientists, clinicians, and families

  • Expanded education and support resources so families are not navigating this alone

This progress is real — and it only happens because of donors who believe rare diseases deserve serious scientific investment.

As parents of a child with CHD2 — and as board members of CCC — we see firsthand how every donation helps move the field forward. Research takes time, but momentum matters, and CCC is helping ensure CHD2 is no longer overlooked.
